The Hiram Clarke/Fort Bend Redevelopment Authority Board shall consist of the same members of the TIRZ #25 Board with Theodore Andrews, TIRZ #25 Board Chairman.

MILTON AND Peggy zwahr will celebrate  62 years of marriage September 26, 2015
They agree that their secret for a long and happy marriage was to “always have faith in God and faith and trust in each other.  Our love grew stronger each year.” During those 62 years they raised three Eagle Scout sons: David, Steve, and Jon. They also had three grandchildren: Shonda, Kayla and Steven and six great grandchildren: Ava, Aisha, Dayssi, Lily, Tristan, and Blake Milton, born July 31st and named after his Grand Pa and Great Grand Pa.  Their two great sorrows was the lost of David’s wife, Debbie, and great granddaughter, Aisha. Their faith has helped them through the good and the sad times.

Milton Blake Labra arrived in time to help his great grand parents celebrate their 62nd anniversary.

VERBAL ABUSE
Sweet little Erma went to her doctor and told him that as soon as her husband stepped in the door he started yelling and complaining, insulting her, and even using foul language. He won’t listen to reason. “I’m getting so depressed, the verbal abuse is more than I can take. Can you give me something to help,” she asked.
The doctor said, I want you to make a pot of tea. As soon as your husband walks in the door, I want you to take a sip of tea and just hold it in your mouth until he gets quiet. If he starts up again take another sip. Come back in four weeks for a check up.
Four weeks later, Erma bounced into the doctor’s office all smiles. “Doctor that tea worked like a miracle. At first I had to take several sips of tea, but this week I only needed one small sip. I wished I would have known what a wonderful effect tea has.”
“And Erma, if you ever run out don’t have tea, substitute  water,” replied the wise old doc.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord my strength and my redeemer.”
Psalm 19:14

BLACK LIVES MATTER
So why no protest when 24.8 percent of the babies aborted in Texas are black, but only 12.3 percent of the people in Texas are black, according to the Census Bureau.

FM 2234
Initially  scheduled for completion in 2014, the 4-lane roadway project from Cartwright Rd. to the Fort Bend Tollway is finally open to vehicular traffic. This segment of FM 2234 is still undergoing some minor construction repairs to the existing medians, but TxDOT assured the District K council office that all construction will be completed by mid-September.
Phase II of the FM 2234 project from Fort Bend Tollway to FM 521 is scheduled to start in 2016. According to TxDOT, their Brazoria Area Engineer's Office is expected to manage this project. Similar to the Phase 1 project, Council Member Green will facilitate a community informational meeting for the residential neighborhoods pertaining to this portion of FM 2234. The District K office will continue to keep the Fort Bend Houston community informed as when a tentative start date is established.

BILL OF RIGHTS CONFUSING?
To help us understand the Bill of Rights in our Constitution, Lewis  Napper wrote a Bill of NON-Rights
I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth.
II: You do not have the right to never be offended.
III: You do not have the right to be free from harm.
IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing.
V: You do not have the right to free health care.
VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people.
VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others.
VIII: You do not have the right to a job.
IX: You do not have the right to happiness. You have the right to PURSUE happiness,
X: English is our language. Learn it!
XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in the one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history.

Phone Scams - Still Number One
The telephone is still the scammer’s favorite method. Never give out information concerning your Social Security or bank account info, etc in response to an unsolicited call. Scammers come up with new stories everyday. They are experts in deceit and they don’t give you time to think.
.  They use scare tactics, prey on your sympathy, or on your desire to get something for nothing.

 DANGER ON ANDERSON ROAD
Drivers don’t pay attention to the law that says no passing within 300 feet of an intersection according to Sue Hughes who has been hit twice when turning off of Anderson. On the morning of August 15th, a neighbor made a left hand turn onto his street and was hit by a car passing a car that had slowed down as the neighbor turned. Witnesses estimated the car was speeding about 80 miles an hour. The speeder hit the ditch after knocking the back wheels off the car of the man just trying to safely drive home.  He survived.
Another person in the 14000 block of Almeda Road was not so fortunate. He had an heart attack, ran into a pole and was killed near Bob’s State Inspection station.

 Almeda Moe
“Morning Moe. I see you are all prepped for your operation. Hey, why do you look so worried? This is a  procedure that has been done many times.”
“I was ok until the nurse said, ‘Don’t worry I’m sure everything will be fine.”
Why should that bother you?
“She was talking to the doctor.”

The First Amendment guarantees free speech and the free exercise of religion.  Students may privately pray, either individually or as a group, at a school athletic competition (such as a football game), student assembly, or other extracurricular activity when school officials (teachers or administrators) are not involved, like praying around the flag pole on the 23rd. Public schools must treat religious expression such as prayer, reading the Bible, and religious discussion the same way they treat similar non-religious expression. If you feel the public school is violating your child’s constitutional rights contact Liberty Institute at www.libertyinstitute.org/student-bill-of-rights

THE CROSS ON ALMEDA ROAD
A small cross with flowers on Hwy. 521 near Foxshire is a reminder of the tragic death of Serina “Misti” Stewart at 12:15 am. July 5, 2015. Misti lost her life while trying to save a life of someone she didn’t know. She was trying to pull a person out of danger when she was hit by first one car and then another one. Born June 14, 1979, Misti had recently celebrated her 37th birthday. Her friends say she was always there when someone asked for help. She leaves behind three children.

FT. BEND HOMEOWNERS SAY 10% TOO HIGH
A  group of residents from Ft. Bend County have been leading an effort to bring awareness and change regarding  home/land appraisals from increasing to as much as 10% a year. People are fearful of being taxed out of their homes. Over 2000 residents  are involved and state reps are taking notice.  The tax rate is irrelevant if the Appraisal board increases  the taxes  by elevating the value by 10% every year. They believe the appraisal district is inconsistent.  We ask our representatives for assistance in "auditing" their operations and providing transparency to the reasons behind our appraisal values. All Texas citizens are asked to consider signing the petition. It's time for our representatives and taxing authorities to take greater accountability regarding budgets and  transparency.  To sign the petition and get more info go to Allison.walla@deltarefractories.com.
MY RIGHTS WERE TRAMPLED
Recently I was denied service at a grocery store in Almeda. Normally I try to be presentable when I go anywhere but I had made a quick dash to get someone to work. Since it was early I thought I could dash into the store for one item before anybody noticed my appearance. But the security guard noticed, “You can’t come in barefoot.”
“I came in this store barefoot before you were born.” Where is the manager?”
“It is a health regulation,” he said. “I’m sorry.”

For a moment I considered ignoring him... no he is a lot bigger than I am, so I stomped (actually you don’t stomp when you are barefoot) out of the store.“No, You are not sorry,” I snapped back. Since I was very short on time because I had to be at a Bible Study where I was to teach on the sin of complaining, I got back out of my car.  I stepped up to the automatic door (that replaced the old screen door of long ago) and said, “If you are really sorry will you take this $5 and get me a gallon of milk?
He took the money and brought the milk to the door. I did not deserve that kindness. My self righteous indignation evaporated. Proverbs 12:15 says “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes.” Officers, who have the job of enforcing rules when we act like a fool, are really special.  They don’t arrest us for displaying love, joy, peace, goodness, gentleness, faith, patience and  meekness. They deserve our respect.  I was rebellious, but I was not guilty of complaining nor was I late for Bible study, because a man in authority forgave my rudeness.
God is good. I am thankful He forgives his children.  We never have the right  to be rude but if want to...

CINDY and DANIEL MOSES
Cindy and Daniel are the managers of North Point at 3126 Ward Street where at the present 13 residents, mostly people with disabilities and a few non-violent persons on parole, are residing. Cindy and her husband, Daniel,  opened February 14, 2015. Cindy had spent the previous 20 years working as a CNA in a hospital and a nursing home with 60 occupants in Missouri. She is glad to be in a warmer climate as cold weather increases the pain she suffers from  rheumatoid arthritis caused in part by the years she spent as a gymnastic. She and Daniel were married in 1983 and together they have nine children.
Although Cindy is only one inch over five feet, her energy level is ten feet high. She does all the cooking, most of the washing, dispensing medicine, including injections, even bathing a resident in a wheelchair, and keeping an eye out for those that need a little extra care, or sometimes just a friend to talk to. The residents are free to leave but she asks them not to leave until they have a plan rather than get mad and take off.
Some of the residents are on Medicaid so they can afford to go to the Good Old Days Program by Art Levy. To Cindy all her residents are angels. If you would like to see a big smile on her face just drive up to 3126 Ward street with sheets, towels, silverware, blankets, clothes, plastic cups, etc. You may call first 832 416 3130.
You may recognize that the house is the one Mr. and Mrs. Ward bought from Mr. Anderson and moved from Anderson Rd. It is over 100 years old

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Almeda’s Wyatt Earp just celebrated his 70th birthday July 7th.  He hasn’t retired for he still runs the plastic recycling company and sells wood for BBQ. In the first issue of Our News, he put in a 1/4 page ad for antiques and continued for the next 18 months.  His ad  kept Our News from going bankrupt as the paper started with only $100.  Wyatt, sure hope your  birthday was great!

Modern Day Daniel Boone
They might not be able to trap bears but several men are earning as much as $1000 a week during the winter months trapping feral hogs according to Wilton Curry who buys them. Curry has one of Texas Approved Feral Swine Holding Facilities in Rosenberg. He hauls live hogs to San Antonio where they are processed by a company that sells the meat overseas where it is considered a delicacy.
He cannot accept a dead hog but for hogs weighing 40 to 60 pounds he pays 10 cents a pound, 61 to 100 lbs. 35 cents, over 100 lbs, 45 cents a pound  plus a head bonus of $5 for 100 lb hog, over 150 lbs. $10 and over 200 lbs a bonus of $12.50.
Trap a dozen hogs in your spare time and you could earn $1,000.
Of course, prices change but you can contact Wilton Curry at 3039 N Bar Lane Rosenberg 77471 or call 281 808 0597.

YOU DON’T SAY
Our government is of the lobbyist, by the lobbyist and for the lobbyist according to Senator Ted Cruz,  noting that lobbyist are responsible for a vote to extend the Export Import Bank which in essence is corporate welfare for several companies at the expense of taxpayers. Lobbyist give campaign money to Dems. and Rep.
Career politicians are more concerned about keeping their job than doing their job. They will never pass a bill for term limits but voters need to retire Republican Senator John Cornyn and Democrat Representative Al Green. They’ve been there too long.

A NORMAL PARENT
Parents normally love their children and want love in return. With love, they tell the child to brush their teeth, don’t eat dirt, etc. They want obedience from their child for the good of the child. They know the child will not always obey, since they have inherited a nature which wants its own way. So when the kid disobeys and gets hurt, the parent is there with medicine or maybe just a kiss to make it feel better or if necessary a switch to teach them to do what is right.
A loving parent reflects the love of God toward us. No parent would expect obedience if the child has not been told what to do, nor does God. So he told certain men to write down the rules that would help us live the kind of life that would in the long run make us happy and bring glory to God.
None of us keep all the rules all the time so we are not in a position to judge one another. But if we break the rules we should never deny that God’s rules are good. Just as our children bring us joy or grief, our actions bring joy or grief to our heavenly Father.
Rules for a small child are not necessary for a teenager just as the rules in Leviticus concerning animal sacrifice are no longer needed. Animal sacrifice had prepared God’s people to understand that God is a God of justice and to look forward to his promise of sending a person who will clean us from our sins.  The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
The rule to honor your parents does not change with age nor do the other moral rules such as lying, stealing, killing, deviations of God’s design for sex, or anything we might do that dishonors  our heavenly Father who happens to be omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.
